Our one-year fellowship is ACGME approved for adult epilepsy with an emphasis in video EEG monitoring and evaluation of patients for epilepsy surgery. The fellowship is centered in a ten-bed video/EEG monitoring unit with state-of-the-art digital equipment. Training is provided in the interpretation of EEG, video/EEG, intracranial video/EEG, intraoperative electrocorticography and evoked potentials. Fellows also participate in engaging outpatient clinics.

Regular activities of the section include
- Supervision of care in the epilepsy monitoring unit for event characterization, epilepsy classification, and surgical evaluation
- Review of long-term standard and critical care continuous video EEG
- Utilization of quantitative EEG for early detection of delayed cerebral ischemia
- Evaluation of routine inpatient and outpatient EEG and evoked potential studies
- Service of outpatient epilepsy clinics, including focused clinics on neuromodulation, transition of care, genetics and tuberous sclerosis complex
- Weekly interdisciplinary epilepsy surgery conference
- Epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology didactic sessions
- Epilepsy journal club review
- Participation in patient safety and quality improvement initiatives
